Golden Flower Pounamu Roimata
$250.00
I carved this pounamu roimata from deep green stone with a rich lustre and golden, pale yellow flowering. Its teardrop shape represents aroha, comfort and connection with those we hold close. Finished with a black spiral roimata lashing, it is a one-of-a-kind taonga, ready to wear.

Description
This pounamu roimata has a deep green colour reminiscent of kahurangi, with a rich lustre that highlights the natural patterns within the stone. Golden and light yellow streaks form distinctive putiputi, or flower-like patterns, through the green. These natural markings give this one-of-a-kind pendant its individual character.
The roimata, or teardrop, carries meaning connected to aroha, sadness, remembrance and comfort. It can represent the love we hold for someone and the strength of that connection through difficult times. Pounamu gives these meanings a lasting, tangible form: a taonga to wear close and treasure.
I finished this pendant with a black spiral roimata lashing, which complements the deep green and lighter flowering. It comes ready to wear, as a meaningful gift or a personal reminder of someone important.
