Nga Tui Taonga

This was a really cool set to work on. It is some of my favorite type of pounamu being really translucent.

It took quite a while to get the design right in consultation with the customer and I am super stoked with how it turned out.

These were designed from the characteristics of the tui. The main parts being the lengthy body and shaped wings, and the white tuft on the neck.

I made a change to use the translucency to bring out the white tuft when held up to the light.

This was a really cool set to work on. It is some of my favorite type of pounamu being really translucent.
