Manawanui – Steadfast Heart
Manawanui speaks of steadfastness, patience and perseverance. Commissioned by a husband for his wife, this taonga acknowledges her strength and the steady commitment that supports their life together.

Carved from deep green kawakawa pounamu, the pendant measures 60 mm wide by 40 mm high. Black streaks add character to the dense, opaque stone, while the black lashing and cord complement its dark colouring.

The broad rectangular form represents solidity, consistency and discipline. Its balanced proportions reflect dependability—the strength found in being there for others, remaining patient through challenges and staying committed to what matters.
Pounamu can carry the meaning of a relationship, becoming a lasting connection between the person who gives it and the person who wears it. Given by a husband to his wife, this piece carries both that connection and an acknowledgement of her own strength.

Manawanui is a reminder of a steadfast heart, the value of perseverance and the aroha shared through everyday life.
