Kawakawa Roimata
This stunning Roimata is carved from A-grade Kawakawa Pounamu, known for its deep green colour and remarkable translucency. The pendant has straight tapered sides and a gently curved base, measuring 8cm in length. I’ve added a white spiral lashing to complement the rich green tones of the stone.
The Roimata, or ‘tear drop’ shape, traditionally symbolises healing, comfort, and strength. It is often gifted to express love and support, helping to ease grief or hardship. Wearing a Roimata is believed to bring a calming energy to the wearer, offering protection and peace.
This piece reflects the natural beauty of Kawakawa Pounamu while carrying the traditional symbolism of the Roimata – a meaningful taonga for anyone seeking connection, comfort, and strength.
