Description
This stylised Niho taonga is carved from striking striped grey Pakohe from the Takaka region, an area rich in cultural and geological heritage. At 65mm long, the form curves powerfully and narrows to a refined point — honouring the traditional niho (tooth) shape that symbolises strength, courage, and the enduring legacy of whakapapa.
Pakohe is a stone of great mana, once used by Māori for tools and weapons due to its hardness and integrity. This piece showcases subtle veining, warm iron tones, and layered textures that reflect the ancient forces that formed it.
Size: 65mm
