Description
This Kōuma breastplate has been carved from a richly coloured piece of Marsden Flower Jade. The dark green base is laced with golden yellow patterns that flow through the surface, bringing warmth and life to the piece. Measuring 90mm wide and 65mm high, it’s a strong, grounded taonga designed to sit close to the heart.
The shape and style follow the Kōuma form — a breastplate symbolising inner strength, protection, and the deep grounding that comes from knowing who you are and where you come from. It rests over the chest, representing the sternum or heart space, connecting the wearer to their own resilience and their whakapapa.
This piece is bold but deeply personal — designed not just as something to wear, but as something to carry you.
