Description
I carved this 65 mm roimata from kawakawa pounamu with pale, cloud-like patterns running through it. These lighter, almost white areas give the stone its own character and complement the flowing teardrop shape. Black lashing and a three-braid cord complete the pendant, ready to wear.
Roimata means “teardrop” and can represent aroha, sorrow, comfort and healing. As a taonga, it can acknowledge difficult experiences while expressing the love and support that help someone carry on. This makes it a meaningful gift for someone facing change, remembering a loved one, or needing a reminder of their strength and connection to others.
