Description
Roimata Ora translates to âtears of lifeâ or âtears that bring renewal.â The roimata form has long symbolised emotional release, healing, and the restoration of balance. Rather than representing sadness alone, the tear shape acknowledges the important role that reflection and emotion play in moving forward with strength and clarity.
This taonga is carved from vibrant green Pounamu and measures 55mm in length. The carving has elegant curves along the sides with flat faces on both the front and back, allowing the natural beauty of the stone to stand out clearly. When held to the light the Pounamu becomes beautifully translucent, revealing darker mineral inclusions that add depth and character to the piece.
The taonga is finished with a traditional black roimata lashing that sits cleanly at the top of the carving and contrasts strongly with the bright green stone.
Each piece of Pounamu carries its own natural patterns and presence, making this Roimata a one-of-a-kind taonga.
