


Tapatoru Whanau, Triangle and Family
This piece is a nice way to connect a mother with her whanau. The koru in the middle represent the members of her whanau and come together in a manawa or heart shape for the aroha between these people.

Kuru Refurbish – Natual Finish
This was a cool job to do. I really liked the natural finish of these pieces as well as how they ended up looking with the full kuru lashing. You can see in the photos below the starting point and then the process I went through to reshape them for the lashing.

This is a set for a special whanau that connect with the ngahere/bush. they even had the analogy of a sheltering tree in their wedding vows. The fact that these are all from the same piece of pounamu as well as the connected through the theme of the ngahere is double important for this whanau….

This set was made for a 35th Wedding Anniversary. Coral is the symbol for this anniversary and jade is the modern gemstone for it, or emerald traditionally.
