Aroha Roimata – Te Puna Manawanui
Earlier this year, a mother commissioned a Roimata for her daughter—Te Puna Aroha, a pendant made to carry her love. You can read about that taonga here: https://campbellcarving.co.nz/aroha-roimata-te-puna-aroha/
Now, her daughter has commissioned a Roimata to give back to her mum—something to carry all the love and support flowing in the other direction. I’ve called this piece Te Puna Manawanui—”the wellspring of resilience.” It’s a reminder of the kindness a mother gives so freely, and a reflection of her own emotional resilience and deep strength.

The pendant is carved from the same Aroha Stone as her daughter’s Roimata, linking them through shared stone and shared sentiment. This one is slightly longer and narrower, with fine visible mika catching the light—sparkles her mum had admired on her daughter’s piece. It’s smooth, warm to hold, and shaped to sit gently against the chest.

More than anything, this Roimata is full of meaning. It was created to help her mum connect with the love she gives and deserves, to bring a sense of calm, and to carry the deep aroha and gratitude of a daughter honouring everything her mum has been and continues to be.
