Description

The Hei Toki is a traditional form that represents strength, courage, and forward direction. It is worn as a reminder to stay grounded, act with intent, and shape your own journey. Inspired by the adze, a tool used to create and build, the toki carries meaning around capability and resilience.

This piece is carved from Raukaraka Pounamu and measures 75mm in length. The stone has a soft, pale green base with a warm orangey tinge, forming a natural gradient that shifts from darker to lighter across the piece. This gives it a subtle sense of movement and depth.

The form follows a classic Hei Toki shape, with a gentle offset curve through the base and cutting edge that adds character while keeping the design clean and balanced. It is finished with a tan lashing that complements the warmth of the stone.

A one-off taonga with a strong, steady presence, carrying the core meaning of strength and direction.
