Inanga Pounamu Tapatoru
$320.00
This Tapatoru pendant is carved from Inanga Pounamu with gentle Raukāraka tones and a striking natural band running across the middle — a flaw that’s become a feature. It’s 25mm across, set in sterling silver by M.V.H Jewellers, and hangs from a fine silver-coloured chain. A clean and elegant taonga born from collaboration.
Description
This Inanga Pounamu Tapatoru pendant is a collaboration between myself and M.V.H Jewellers. I carved the triangular form from a soft-toned piece of Inanga Pounamu that also shows subtle Raukāraka colouring. A naturally banded flaw runs across the centre of the stone — not something to hide, but something that draws the eye and tells the story of the stone’s formation.
The 22mm pendant is set in sterling silver and paired with a fine silver-coloured chain, giving it a refined, contemporary finish. The Tapatoru (triangle) form can symbolise strength, balance, or the connection between people and place.
This piece combines clean lines, natural patterning, and craftsmanship in both stone and silver — a unique taonga with quiet presence and deep character.
Size: 25mm
