Description
This pair of Roimata earrings is carved from translucent Inanga Pounamu, known for its soft pale green colour and watery clarity. Within the stone are deeper forest green tones that shift and reveal themselves as the light moves through the Pounamu. When held to the light, the translucency shows the natural depth and character that makes Inanga Pounamu so special.
The Roimata shape symbolises reflection, healing, and emotional connection. Traditionally it represents a drop of water or tear, carrying meanings of remembrance, empathy, and the acknowledgement of lifeâs experiences. Worn as earrings, the form has a gentle presence that sits naturally with the movement of the wearer.
Each earring measures approximately 60mm long and has a slightly organic outline rather than perfectly straight edges. This gives the pair a natural, flowing character while still remaining well balanced and carefully matched. The wide shape allows the colour and translucency of the stone to be fully appreciated, making them a striking and elegant pair of taonga.
These earrings are a matching pair, carved from the same stone and shaped to complement one another, highlighting the natural beauty of Inanga Pounamu.
