This Roimata-shaped taonga is carved from a striking piece of apple green Pounamu with rusty golden-brown flower patterning running through the stone. When held up to the light or the sun, the green becomes highly translucent, revealing depth and movement within the Pounamu that shifts as it’s worn.
The overall form is organic and slightly irregular, shaped naturally through the tumbling process rather than forced into a strict symmetry. This gives the piece a grounded, tactile feel, with softened edges and a shape that feels true to the stone itself. The flower patterning adds contrast and warmth, creating a balance between brightness and earthiness.
