Description

This Tangiwai Pounamu Roimata, 10cm long, carries deep meaning in its traditional teardrop form. Roimata are known as tears of compassion, representing healing, comfort, and aroha. They are often given to support someone through life’s challenges, or as a reminder of connection between people and whānau.

Carved from Tangiwai Pounamu, the most translucent form of Pounamu, this piece glows with a gorgeous inner light when lifted to the sun. The stone is dark green with a very fine clear grain, drawing the eye into its depth and clarity. Finished with a black spiral lashing, the design is both strong and elegant, highlighting the beauty of the stone.

I also have a matching Roimata carved from the same piece of Tangiwai. If you would like to own a set of two, symbolising a pair or partnership, please get in touch and I can share more details.
