Description
This Roimata pendant is 55mm long and carved from Kawakawa Pounamu, known for its deep green colour and, in this piece, pale swirling patterns that soften and lighten the stone. The surface is finished in a satin matte texture, giving it a quiet, grounded presence. It’s lashed with a black cord at the top, and the base is softly rounded, allowing the piece to rest comfortably against the chest.
The Roimata design symbolises tears, but not only in sadness—it carries the fullness of emotion, both grief and compassion. It is often worn by those on a healing journey or gifted to show support and aroha. Its flowing form speaks of connection, empathy, and the resilience found in expressing and honouring what we feel.
