Description

This Polished Pounamu Palm Cobble has been shaped by both nature and human hands to bring out its striking character. It is designed to sit comfortably in the hand, with a thickness that makes it satisfying to hold and turn over, offering a sense of calm and connection. It can serve as a personal touchstone, a grounding presence in a whare, or even a mauri stone for a kaupapa or whānau.

The cobble shows a beautiful mix of colours: deep greens and pale greens blend together, contrasted by the orange-toned rind that frames part of the stone. One side is polished smooth to reveal these patterns and depths, while the other side remains with its natural skin as it was found. This dual finish reflects the relationship between the untouched natural world and the shaping influence of people.

At 8cm long, 7cm wide, and 1.5cm thick, this cobble is compact yet substantial, perfect for holding, displaying, or gifting as a meaningful taonga. It is a piece that carries not only the natural beauty of Pounamu but also its connection to the whenua and to those who keep it close.
