Description
This Kōuma breastplate is carved from Kokopu Pounamu, a stone known for its distinctive dappled pattern and deep connection to Te Taiao (the natural world). Measuring 6cm wide and 4cm high, it sits close to the chest, symbolising protection, inner strength, and resilience.
The white ringbolt lashing across the top contrasts beautifully with the natural tones of the stone, reinforcing the idea of connection—binding past, present, and future together. The four-braid cord ensures durability and represents unity, whakapapa, and endurance.
This Kōuma is more than a pendant—it is a guardian, a reminder of personal strength, and a connection to whānau and tūpuna. A timeless taonga to be worn with pride.
