Kawakawa Knife-Form Taonga

$130.00

This naturally tumbled Kawakawa Pounamu has taken the form of a small knife, complete with a handle-like shape. Measuring 60mm long, it’s not sharp or functional as a blade, but the form evokes purpose and intention. The rich green colouring of the stone comes through clearly, with some natural inclusions adding depth and character.

Description

This unique taonga has emerged from its tumbling process in the organic shape of a small knife, with a naturally formed “blade” and a handle-like grip. It is not sharp or dangerous — instead, the form is symbolic, echoing themes of readiness, purpose, and craftsmanship.

Made from Kawakawa Pounamu, the stone has a rich mid-to-deep green colour with subtle variations and inclusions that bring out its natural beauty. The piece is left as it came from the tumbling process — a gentle polish with no carving, celebrating the natural shaping of the stone itself.

Worn as a pendant, it can represent someone stepping into their strength, sharpening their intentions, or honouring the tools and skills they carry within them. It’s a one-of-a-kind taonga that reminds us that form and meaning can emerge from the natural world without force.
