Kōriporipo Inanga
$390.00
Good instinct — if you’re using the word to express the idea of branching or flowing movement, a stronger Māori word is kōriporipo, which refers to rippling or flowing movement (often used for water). It fits the visual effect of the stone really well.

Description
The toki is a powerful symbol of strength, courage, and leadership. Traditionally shaped after the adze blades used by Māori ancestors, the design represents determination, resilience, and the ability to shape one’s own path in life. Wearing a toki acknowledges the responsibility to stand strong, face challenges with confidence, and lead with integrity.
This taonga is carved from beautiful Inanga Pounamu displaying kōriporipo patterning flowing through the stone. The pale green jade has a shimmering quality, with natural movement within the surface that gives the stone depth and character. Inanga Pounamu is known for its soft, light green colouring and gentle translucency, which allows light to move through the stone and highlight its natural features.
The toki measures 70mm in length and is finished with a black lashing cord that contrasts cleanly against the pale green stone. It is presented on a display card, ready to wear or gift as a meaningful taonga.
Each piece of Pounamu carries its own unique character and natural patterning, making this toki a one-of-a-kind piece.
