Description
Carved by David Curtis, this 70mm roimata is crafted from beautiful flower jade displaying a natural blend of soft pale greens, warm orange hues, and areas of deeper green. Polished to a high finish, the stone reveals its depth and character as it moves through the light.
Unlike the soft flowing curves often associated with the roimata form, this piece features crisp lines and carefully shaped facets that create changing reflections across its surface. The exposed drop-hole suspension is left visible as part of the design, giving the pendant a clean and contemporary character while allowing the beauty of the stone to remain the focus.
The roimata is traditionally associated with healing, strength, compassion, and the release of emotion. Often worn as a reminder of personal growth and resilience, it represents the ability to move forward while carrying the experiences that shape us. Its elegant, downward form also reflects calmness, balance, and quiet inner strength.
Combining traditional symbolism with a distinctive faceted design and the unique colours of flower jade, this taonga is both meaningful and timeless.
