Description

Carved by David Curtis, this 55mm hei toki is crafted from beautiful flower jade featuring a gentle blend of pale greens, warm orange hues, and subtle areas of darker green. The stone has been polished to a high finish, revealing the depth and natural character that makes every piece unique.

The pendant features a traditional single-hole drop-hole suspension, with the attachment extending around a third of the way into the toki. This style highlights the suspension as part of the overall design while maintaining the clean, timeless form of the pendant.

The hei toki is one of the best-known forms in Māori carving. Inspired by the adzes once used to shape timber and carve waka, it has come to symbolise strength, resilience, determination, leadership, and skilled workmanship. It represents the ability to overcome challenges, continue learning, and shape your own path through life.

Whether worn as a personal reminder or given as a meaningful gift, this flower jade hei toki combines traditional symbolism with the unique colours and character of the stone, creating a taonga that will be treasured for years to come.
