Description

Named Rā Poutumaro – The Midday Sun – this full-length 400mm Wahaika is carved from deep green Rimu Kawakawa Pounamu with flowing, natural patterning. It symbolises connection and alignment, a reaching upwards toward the zenith of the spiritual self—the moment of highest clarity, strength, and insight.

The stone itself holds strong energy. The richness of the green tones and natural inclusions speak of growth and grounded power. In te ao Māori, the midday sun represents the peak of one’s energy and awareness. This taonga embodies that moment—when we are most aligned, most present, and most capable of carrying our inner light outward into the world.

Presented with a handcrafted stand made from native South Westland red rātā wood, this piece is grounded in both Papatūānuku and Te Wairua. It is an artwork that bridges worlds, ideal for those drawn to spiritual journeying, ancestral connection, and purposeful presence.

Carved by Paul Berry, whose carving practice is deeply rooted in his spiritual and ancestral path, this piece is a statement of both inner and outer strength.
